During this unprecedented time of uncertainty, there is no higher priority than the health and wellbeing of our clients, staff and the community.
Relative Care are working to support our clients and their families and we will continue to provide this care and support throughout these difficult times.
While COVID-19 may only present as mild symptoms for many people, it can be life threatening for older people and people with disabilities who may have compromised immune systems or other health conditions
Therefore, we are asking all of the Relative Care community to work together to help contain the spread of Covid-19 and to keep everyone safe
Please take the time to read and follow the protective measures outlined below and share the information among families, communities and work colleagues.
As part of our commitment to staff and client wellbeing, we are committed to the following;
- In home care services will continue at the client’s request
- We are keeping up to date with all Department of Health Guidelines and ensure our staff are educated on infection control and work, health and safety procedures
- Our staff that support you with will wash their hands upon arrival and regularly thereafter, and practice social distancing where practicable
- We have provided our staff Personal Protective Equipment for use when required
- Screening all staff. Staff are required to answer a series of questions, advise of symptoms, no matter how minor, and to self-isolate if symptomatic as per Australian Government guidelines
- All Staff have completed mandatory training regarding Infection Control and Covid-19
- We are able to deliver new and different ways to provide services to our clients such as unassisted shopping
- Ongoing communication with staff on any updates to requirements, the importance of standard precautions including proper hand hygiene, screening customers, cough etiquette and social distancing
What do we need our clients to do
- Let us know if you might be unwell and we can reschedule your services
- Please practice good hand washing and personal hygiene
- Advise us as soon as possible of any changes to regular Services
- Contact our Specialist team if you have been overseas in the past four weeks or in contact with someone with Covid-19 or suspected Covid-19
- Observe all the rules and notifications shared by the Australian Government
- In home care services will continue at the client’s request
